Madeline Howard, President
Maddy works as a Senior Sustainability Advisor at Constellation Energy where she enables corporates to meet their sustainability and decarbonization goals.
Prior to Constellation, Maddy worked at Sustainalytics supporting institutional and retail investors with the quality research necessary to implement ESG integration into their investment processes. She spent 7 years previously in the Wealth and Investment Management space at both BNY Mellon and Brown Advisory. Maddy earned her Bachelors degree from Dickinson College and a Masters in Business Administration from Boston University, where she was part of the Social Impact program, focusing on Energy and Environmental Sustainability. She has also completed the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor program.
As President, Maddy spearheads BASIC’s strategic agenda, working with the Leadership Team to support and grow our sustainable investing community.
Dan Saccardi, Membership Chair
Dan Saccardi is a Director in Ceres' Company Network where he leads multi-stakeholder dialogues with a portfolio of financial services companies. Dan engages with companies on sustainability strategy, disclosure, policy development and programmatic priorities covering topics such as climate and clean energy, water risk management, product integration, and governance for sustainability.
Dan graduated cum laude from Connecticut College where he received a BA in Environmental Studies. He also holds an MBA and MPA from New York University.
Joanna Dacunha, Events Co-Chair
Joanna is the Environmental Justice Program Manager at Resonant Energy, leading initiatives that expand clean energy access for nonprofits, affordable housing, and commercial properties. She focuses on community shared solar, community projects introducing clean energy, partnering with community organizations, and securing funding to make solar projects financially viable. Joanna works at the intersection of climate equity and impact investing, ensuring organizations can participate in the clean energy transition while benefiting from Massachusetts’ solar incentives and innovative funding models. Joanna earned a Bachelor's in International Development and Social Change and a Master's in Community Development and Planning both from Clark University.
As Events Co-Chair, Joanna plans and executes BASIC events including panel discussions, roundtables, and socials. The event co-chairs collaborate with the BASIC management team and BASIC affiliates to ensure events are engaging and touch on relevant topics in the SRI community.
Ellen Hanlon, Events Co-Chair
Ellen is a client service associate at Zevin Asset Management, a boutique investment firm specializing in responsible investing and ESG. She holds a BA in Economics from Mount Holyoke College.
As Events Co-Chair, Ellen plans and executes BASIC events including panel discussions, roundtables, and socials. The event co-chairs collaborate with the BASIC management team and BASIC affiliates to ensure events are engaging and touch on relevant topics in the SRI community.
Ashton Kille, Marketing Co-Chair
Ashton joined Kendall Sustainable Infrastructure in 2018 as an Analyst. His responsibilities include new business development, project management, research, due diligence, and investment analysis. Prior to Kendall, Ashton took on various internships including accounting and wealth management positions. He graduated from Bentley University in three years with a B.S. in Finance and a Liberal Studies Major concentrated in Earth, Environment and Global Sustainability. Ashton has also earned a certification from US SIF for Sustainable and Responsible Investing (SRI) and a certification from Stanford University in Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies.
As a Marketing Chair, Ashton connects the BASIC community by sharing events and industry news via our website and LinkedIn as well as blog posts. He also works with members to produce blog content while collaborating with the broader investing community.
Alicia Raspa, Treasurer
Alicia is the Controller at the Union of Concerned Scientists. Prior to her current role, Alicia spent over 10 years as an auditor at various CPA firms in the Boston area. She enjoys supporting the team at UCS in their important scientific advocacy work by providing accurate and timely financial data. She is passionate about improving sustainable financial reporting to help quantify and disclose the effects of ESG related issues. Alicia obtained a B.S. in Mathematics and Economics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Masters in Business Administration and Masters in Accounting from Northeastern University.
As Treasurer, Alicia is responsible for the fiscal and budgetary management of BASIC.
