BASIC is thrilled to announce the results from our inaugural grants program, launched in 2019. We hope the below publications are a useful resource for the BASIC community.

 

Emily Simso, a sustainablity analyst at New Forest, analyzed how local population characteristics and environmental data points can establish the impact of Opportunity Zones. Her research illustrates that investors have a range of impact opportunities via Opportunity Zones.

Quinn Liu, a sustainable investment officer at CalSTRS, researched establishing investment products focused on child rights. Her work details companies existing activities around eliminating child labor, and proposed methodologies for the creation of an exchange-traded fund prioritizing child rights.
